TANYA
tour guide and photographer
Was born in Saratov, graduated with a degree in Philology, having written her thesis on the book “Roadside Picnic” by the Strugatsky brothers. Worked as an editor in book publishing and an advertising agency. After moving to Berlin in 2016, she reinvented herself as a tour guide and, reviving her long-standing interest in photography, came up with a unique 2-in-1 format—photo tours.

Her excursions combine a deep immersion into historical context and attention to architectural detail, a genuine love of street art in all its forms, and extensive knowledge of local quirks. Rather than dry facts and lists of names, Tatiana explores urban myths and legends, and is convinced that one cannot fall in love with Berlin without seeing its multiple facets.

At the same time, Tatiana is developing her artistic career. Her photo projects and collage series are based on in-depth research into the fabric of the metropolis and reveal its underlying nature. One of her most famous works is a series of photographs titled Couch Searching, which is dedicated to the long-standing Berlin tradition of leaving unwanted items on the streets.

She is also familiar with the city's film industry from behind the scenes, having worked as a part-time extra on film sets for award-winning German and Hollywood productions.
All this insider knowledge enables her to unravel unique extracts from art history and contemporary art industry.
